We are a Florida-based team of overly enthusiastic kayakers, who firmly believe that kayaking and kayak fishing could change the world, and we’d like to share our passion for it with as many people as we can. Easy Kayak Fishing has been our common project to provide practical resources for those who love kayaking, let it be salt- or freshwater kayak fishing, or even whitewater kayaking.
Our Fort Lauderdale headquarters is always packed with our insane collection of the latest kayaking and fishing gear, so that we can test and review them ourselves. Our favorite local places are either the Great Calusa Blueway or the Weeki Wachee, except for Warren who always prefers the sea over any freshwater.
We have a team bus called the Black Bass (pun intended) and we regularly take it for week-long kayak fishing trips across North America from Mexico to Canada. Besides reviews of the best kayak fishing gear available, you will find many of our articles exploring some of the best fishing and kayaking spots.
David is the brains behind the team, an avid kayak angler who also has the energy to make up excellent business plans for our venture and to actually make it sound doable. He prefers his inflatable kayak over any vehicle, but sometimes he must confess that kayaking all the way up to Lake Superior isn’t as feasible economically as it sounds. With 25 years of fishing experience and 20 years of kayaking, he often sounds like as he was at least 50 years old, but he’s no more than thirty.
As our chief editor, you will find his name more than often through these pages, especially if there’s a new sit on top kayak or fishing lures available to try.
Melissa is our chief kayaking tour guide. She has been kayaking all her life (27..) and has paddled with her sit-inside kayak in all U.S. states. We have just introduced her to fishing, and she is eager to share her beginner experiences. She also likes to paddle on a SUP so much, that she wants to teach all of us for how great it is. Melissa knows Rock Springs Run by heart, and she’s a paddling-breathing encyclopedia, so if you will find any extra load of captivating new information around here, she must have put it in there.
Justin is the most badass in the group: he is either strolling around lazily in his pedal kayak or going whitewater kayaking up in the Rockies. Apart from whitewater kayaking, he is a dedicated sit on top kayaker, thus prefers to grab those before any one of us strictly for testing purposes. As for fishing, he is a trout specialist.
Warren is the veteran in the team with more than 40 years of experience (but unsure how many years exactly). He doesn’t know much about the internet, but he seems to be the most eager to share everything he knows. Warren specializes in saltwater kayak fishing, and there is a reason why every sea fish fears him. If you want to know what is that, read our blog and you will find out soon enough.
I am probably the most regular kayak angler, except for my dog who accompanies me in my sit-inside kayak. I have been fishing and paddling since five years ago when my three years old son convinced me that we have to do this. He didn’t like its slow pace half as much as I did, so I started kayak fishing by myself. Since then, I grew of something of an expert on bass fishing. I like to review anything what I can get my hands on, but I’m mostly responsible for fishing gear and the appropriate kayaking clothing. I’m also the unofficial driver of the Black Bass and general contact person for the otherwise unusually busy team of ours.
